I’ve been personally touched by the challenges of Parkinson’s disease.
All contributions, no matter how big or how small, are critical to those affected by Parkinson’s. I hope you’ll support my walk this year and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Parkinson’s disease is the second-most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer's and can manifest itself in a range of both motor and non-motor symptoms. Living with Parkinson’s can be incredibly challenging for the individual as well as their family, friends and carepartners. Currently, there is no cure.
Your donation will help Parkinson Society British Columbia continue to provide valuable programs, services, advocacy efforts and research contributions.
MY PERSONAL STORY
THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT HAD A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF PEOLE A YEAR WHO WOULD RECEIVE THE DUODOPA PUMP . THE DUODOPA PUMP ENABLES A PERSON WITH PARKINSON'S TO RECEIVE A CONSTANT STREAM OF MEDICATION WHICH ELIMINATES HAVING TO MEDICATE WITH PILLS EVERY 2 HOURS. I WAS TAKING OVER 20 PILLS A DAY TO MANGAE MY PD SYMPTOMS, THE PARKINSON SOCIETY OF BC ADVOCATED GOVERNMENT TO LIFT THIS RESTRICTION AND WAS SUCCESSFUL. I RECEIVED THE DUODOPA PUMP IN APRIL BECAUSE OF THIS, MY QUALITY OF LIFE HAS VASTLY IMPROVED IN ALL ASPECTS SINCE I GOT THE PUMP!
This is the reason that every dollar is one step closer to improving the lives of those in need.
Please support the SuperWalk Thank you!
