I’ve been personally touched by the challenges of Parkinson’s disease (PD).
This year has brought a whole new perspective in addressing some of the challenges we, with PD have encountered on a daily basis. To maintain our health we must exercise on a regular basis and seek out other professional services on an as needed basis, such as family physician, neurologist, physiotherapist, pharmacist, nutritionist, social worker and speech therapist to name a few. Anyone with PD will require these services, from time to time, to help stay strong and healthy. In the present state of addressing the COVID19 pandemic, many of these services had to be temporariily discontinued. Some are now back in place on a limited basis but it has taken its toll on our health, both physically and mentally.
Parkinson Society of BC has responded to this issue admirably by offering many programs and services online for people with PD. They have an extensive list of online services that can be accessed through their website. Recently, I have participated in the exercise program, Neurofit, as well as the Mindfulness workshops. Both were excellent and it was easy to participate.
Please join me in donating to PSBC so that these and other meaningful programs can be developed to meet the needs of people living with PD. They are working hard on our behalf to improve our quality of life. Thank you in advance for your contribution, large or small, your support is gratefully appreciated.
