On Sept. 23, 2019 my life took a turn when my neurologist (I never dreamed I would ever have a neurologist) looked at me and said “Kathy, you have Parkinson’s Disease”.
After the initial shock wore off, I looked for help. One of my neighbours here on the 18th floor lived with a Parkinson’s patient for many years and another friend in the building was diagnosed three years ago. They directed me to the BC Parkinson Society, which sends me a newsletter and provides webinars and counselling.
I have also joined the Century House Parkinson’s Group which is just a short walk from home. We are organizing a SuperWalk to raise funds and we would very much appreciate your support. Simply click on the link to donate online.
I know that I will need to increasingly rely on the Society for support and education as my disease progresses. The patient support and research which your donation will fund will be vital to me and to the 13,000 other British Columbians who are living with Parkinson’s.
Thank you for your support. Please hit the button to donate.
