When I sent out information about the request for support for the Parkinson's Society some of friends and relatives were quick to ask to be put on my list, but with a reminder closer to the date of the SuperWalk. So,...
I am writing to ask you for a donation for the Parkinson Society British Columbia. As you know, I’ve been personally touched by the challenges of Parkinson’s disease. Each year the effects of the degenerating disease and the meds I need to control symptoms are more evident in my day. The friends and family who are watchful observers can not miss those tell-tale signs. For me, it began at my Father's funeral, where I managed to forget the word "nurture". Totally forget the word.
Parkinson’s disease is the second-most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer's and can manifest itself in a range of both motor and non-motor symptoms. Living with Parkinson’s can be incredibly challenging for the individual as well as their family, friends and carepartners. Currently, there is no cure.
Your donation will help Parkinson Society British Columbia continue to provide valuable programs, services, advocacy efforts and research contributions. They have begun to be a fabulous resource for all 15,000+ of us.
Every dollar is one step closer to improving the lives of those in need. I realize that this is a yearly mailer and some people are finding the requests keep coming from everywhere. Our needs are such that a little bit more might just be the dollars that make the difference!
Please support me. Thank you!
